Joaquin Miller Park Riding

Joaquin Miller Park and The Cinderella Trail

Getting back to that nice single track trail riding that I crave was such a treat. Charlie (my new roommate) and I went on a journey up to Joaquin Miller Park in Oakland today to find some good mountain biking, and succeeded!

Our plan of attack was to park somewhere near the bottom, and ride on the road up to the higher sections of the park. After climbing up Joaquin Miller rd up to skyline blvd, we entered the woods, unaware of what lay in front of us. Even though we had reached a high point, we felt like testing our new found dirt legs out on a few moderate hill climbs. Lucky for us, before we got too deep we ran into a group of cyclists from a local high school mountain biking team who showed us towards the good trails. We climbed with the team through some really nice sections to a local road where they were to take a break. Charlie and I wanted to press on and find what the girl at the bike shop recommended to us: Cinderella Trail.
The group was kind enough to point us in the right direction and so we were off after a quick break.

After a turnaround, we found the Cinderella Trail, which is mostly downhill, and steep! there were a few sections that were mostly rocks, and rutty trails, but there were also some nice smooth spots along the way with kickers interspersed, which I would take advantage of to get some air.
We managed to loop around and get back up to the top of the hill and when we figured out where we were, we decided to bomb Cinderella again.

I'm totally beat from the ride, and I just got The Boys of Ghost Town, and I'm about to just flop on the couch and veg out to it.

Peace
